Panel 1: As Elly writes her column for the Valley Voice, she's mildly put out by the unwelcome presence of a grinning, laughing Michael.....so much so that she tells him that she's busy and asks him what he wants of her.
Panel 2: He tells her that he doesn't want anything before explaining that he likes looking at the goofy faces she makes when she's thinking. The reminder that she mugs shamelessly is an angry shock.
Panel 3: Since she doesn't want to be thought of as there to provide him with free entertainment, she yells for him to kindly get lost.
Panel 4: He thought-bubbles about how her thinking faces can't even compare in goofiness to her yelling faces.
Summary: The Lynnsight in the book is all about how when she was in 'The Zone', her face contorted into the most amazingly weird and ugly shapes. It's also about how much she resented how that fascinated the awful children who wanted to keep the gods of creativity from awarding her the rare gift of imagination that only the specially chosen like her could even hope to receive.
