Panel 1: As the evil video game noises martyr her, Mike tells Elly to come downstairs quick........thereby martyring her by speaking like a seven-and-a-year-and-a-half-year-old.
Panel 2: The obviously pointless accomplishment that she is supposed to be impressed by is the fact that John got 100000 points on Meteor Attack. This martyrs her because it's obvious that the super-crazy no-way non-existent army of judgmental wackos who hand out adult licences will try to take hers away from her.
Panel 3: Her martyrdom is furthered by John's insistence that she surrender her non-existent dignity by trying the evil video game because it's supposed to improve her hand-eye coordination.
Panel 4: He completes her martyrdom by complaining that it does little for the circulation in one's legs. This is because she is required to save him from his own stupidity.
Summary: I can relate to her not getting the point of video games and not wanting to admit that she's too God-damned fidgety to play them. What bugs me is her lack of sympathy for those who do find them interesting as well as her default assumption that everyone thinks like she does.
