John rings in the New Year by getting blotto; this angers Elly for reasons that we won't know until the Lynnsight is posted.

(Strip Number 362, Original Publication Date, 31 December 1982)

Panel 1: We start things off with a group of silhouettes holding up glasses filled with Ontario champagne as they wish each other a happy New Year and sing Auld Lang Syne off key.

Panel 2: Phil, who's holding a glass of something, asks "Hey, where's John? Where's the bartender?"

Panel 3: A gobsmacked Elly asks John what he's doing on the floor.

Panel 4: Her concern devolves into rage when he slurs out that someone kissed him on his glasses and he dropped his lips.

Summary: The trouble with her being angry at him for most of next week is that we don't know why; Lynn's belief that we can read her mind and know what's eating Elly Patterson is a fairly old one that really messes up our ability to enjoy the strip.
