(Strip Number 357, Original Publication Date, 24 December 1982)
Panel 1: As the two of them walk down to the living room, Mike shushes Lizzie and tells her not to wake John and Elly.
Panel 2: Lizzie's excited "LOOK! SANTA! SANTA BEEN HERE! HE...." is cut off when Panicky Idiot Mike puts his hand in front of her mouth.
Panel 3: Remembering last year's incident when he tried waking John on Christmas Day only to be greeted by a scowling jerkwad, he explains that it's six in the morning and that Mom and Dad are NEVER up this early.
Panel 4: We find a happy John and Elly in the kitchen; Elly thought-bubbles about how glad she is that Mike and Lizzie have finally gotten out of bed; they themselves have been up since five and want to open their presents too, you see.
Summary: Like I said, this would be a cute strip if I didn't remember last year's atrocity. Or, for that matter, the ones to follow that remind us that John and Elly's need to impose order and make a show of things was more important than the silly, meaningless thing that is a child's sense of wonder.
