No need to cohabit......

As you all know, we're coming up to the eleventh anniversary of the infamous fake cohabitation arc. In it, we had to contend with Deanna telling Mike that she couldn't simply live together because, as she put it, she'd never pictured herself doing so. Instead, they eloped and spent the next nine months trying to keep her evil mother from discovering what happened and using her family politics to enslave them and not at all cry piteously about how her child wanted to break her heart in two. It seems to me that just as the Coming After would have made more sense and been easier on the eye if Anthony had actually done something heroic, it would have cost Lynn nothing to simply have Mike and Deanna continue to live apart so that they could all mutter angrily about how Mira was making what should be a wedding for heart and family a wedding for show and impressing strangers. I can see no need for a great big secret to add drama to a situation rife with it already that doesn't have its source in Lynn's wishing that she could have avoided certain things in her own life. Also, why didn't Deanna simply object on religious grounds if her mother's values meant more to her than she was willing to say?
