(Strip Number 350, Original Publication Date, 13 December 1982)
Panel 1: We start things off with John and Lizzie bonding while Mike, who's holding a toy rocket, looks on in confusion; Lizzie sets the micro-arc in motion by asking Daddy when Santa coming.
Panel 2: John reminds us that he does know just a tiny bit more about children about Elly does; that's because the thirteen sleeps that it'll take for Santa to come are a long time to a two year old. His use of the word "sleep" as a measurement of time, on the other hand, marks him as a speaker of the Lynnglish language.
Panel 3: Because she's a cute little girl in the Foobiverse and since that means that she's supposed to speak fluent baby-talk, Nizzie's happily asking Daddy if him makin'stuff right now and if him watchin'her from Norf Pole make sense.
Panel 4: Since Mike is an idiot who doesn't realize that Daddy not gonna'preciate his spillina beans at this stage in the game, he has no idea why John is confused and disappointed when he tells Lizzie that Santa's a lot closer than he thinks.
Summary: As I said, this did get Lynn into a lot of trouble; her response to it was to shrug and tell her fans to get lives because if they had a problem with the truth, they were living in a dream world. This makes her blathering about the media have a responsibility to shield her from having to deal with cursing children either rank hypocrisy or blank-witted stupidity. (He said, expecting the plurality of the comments to be variations on the theme "Can't it be both?")
