(Strip Number 329, Original Publication Date, 15 November 1982)
Panel 1: As Elly puts a winter coat on Lizzie, Lizzie yells 'No wanna go to playcare, wanna stay wif you.'
Panel 2: As Lizzie wipes her nose on the back of her hand (eeewwww), Elly tells her that she'll be working and she'd have no fun at all.
Panel 3: Elly looks her in the eyes as she explains that playcare has toys and games and a playground and other children to play with....
Panel 4: Before she can completely explain why playcare is better than a newspaper office, Lizzie yells "WANNA STAY WIF YOU!!!"
Summary: We not only get a reminder that you can't negotiate with a toddler, we also get a reminder that Elly's children think that she wants to run away from them because she hates being around them. Granted, they're right but Elly doesn't want to admit that children give her the wicked jeebies; if she did that, she'd be no better than Thérèse.
