In today's strip, John makes an asinine thought-bubble about how easy it is to part Mike from candy he probably didn't want in the first place.

(Strip Number 330, Original Publication Date, 1 November 1982)

Panel 1: We begin the wrap-up of the Halloween arc by Mike inspecting his haul; given that he says "Far out, man! Look at all this stuff! I'm rich, rich, RICH!!", he can't decide if he's Shaggy Rogers or Daffy Duck.

Panel 2: John sidles on up, picks up a box of candy from the pile and asks Mike if he can have on of these.

Panel 3: Mike scoops up a handful of candy and smilingly tells John "Sure! I got a bunch of these! Take a bunch!!"

Panel 4: John smiles as he walks away and thought-bubbles that a fool and his Milk Duds are soon parted.

Summary: It would probably be best not to tell John that the only reason that Mike willingly parted with candy is that he didn't like that particular kind; doing so would probably enrage him and cause Michael unnecessary hardship.

ETA: November brings us a new banner for our 'enjoyment.'
