We begin the week with a reminder that Farley is something of a shaggy, lumbering idiot of a dog. Given how many people love the pooch, it's sort of going to be hard to watch them be reminded how little the Pattersons think of him.

(Strip Number 4242, Original Publication Date, 11 October 1982)

Panel 1: We start the week off watching Mike listen to the radio; as he stares at it, a newscaster talks about how a robbery was prevented on McVeigh Avenue that morning when the owner's dog barked a warning.

Panel 2: Mike then asks Elly if she thinks that a robber would be scared of Farley.

Panel 3: We then watch Farley raise a cloud of dust and Patterdander as he scratches himself.

Panel 4: Having watched him do so and remembering how stunned the dog acts most of the time, Elly says that the only reason a burglar would be frightened of Farley is if he had allergies.

Summary: The strange, sad thing is that Lynn passed up a chance to inform her American readers about our Thanksgiving so that she could dedicate a week to showing us that selfish John declared psychological warfare on Elly by forcing her to care for a shaggy nitwit of a dog.
