(Strip Number 6088, Original Publication Date, 12 September 1982)
Panel 1: We start things off with Lizzie at the dinner table looking at a bowl of soup and a hard-boiled egg and sighing in despair.
Panel 2: Elly's off-camera voice asks her if she's finished her soup yet.
Panel 3: Since Elly is a bit of an idiot who doesn't realize that children seem to hate soup, she's confused and depressed by the fact that Lizzie hasn't touched one thing.
Panel 4: She then tries to force-feed Lizzie the soup while telling her "Come on, it's good"; Lizzie tries warding off the depressing-looking meal that her mommy is trying to punish her with.
Panel 5: Speaking of punishments, Elly takes the soup away and tells Lizzie "All right. If you don't eat now, you'll get nothing until supper."
Panel 6: As Lizzie heads outside, Elly repeats her threat.
Panel 7: A little while later, Mike comes into the room and greets Elly as she drinks her coffee and skims the headlines because her evil children want sooooo much attention, she doesn't have time for herself.
Panel 8: When asked if Lizzie is still playing with the kids next door, Mike tells Elly that she's at Mrs Baird's.
Panel 9: When told that she's having lunch there, Elly's eyes bug out in existential horror.
Summary: This is not only because Lizzie has betrayed her by not eating the lovely food she gave her, she's going to get a lecture on serving food her children will eat and how horrible and mean-spirited she'd have to be to withhold food from a small child merely because she's too God-damned stupid to realize she can't God-damn force the issue, the stupid God-damned cow.
What makes this even more God-damned stupid is that Lynn is opting out of the 9/11 tribute every other creator on the page is doing today so that we might have an advert for being put-upon because her children are getting away with eating food they like.
