(Strip Number 4213, Original Publication Date, 28 August 1982)
Panel 1: We continue on from where John asked the question 'Nothing?' by having him point out that it's going to cost Elly so much for gas and day care for the volunteer job she wants.
Panel 2: This doesn't make sense to him; that's because he was expecting her to bring home a paycheck or something.
Panel 3: Since she isn't going to do so, he asks her what she's gaining from all this.
Panel 4: Her confiding that she's gaining her sanity baffles him.
Summary: Since they don't really communicate and since he doesn't want to realize that she feels inadequate most of the time because that would imply that he's the insenstive, ignorant clodhopper Lynn inexplicably prefers to Rod Johnston, he'll go right on being baffled until the sign from the Lucky Clucker decapitates him.
