(Strip Number 7123, Original Publication Date, 15 August 1982)
Panel 1: We start the proceedings in Mike's bedroom; he hums to himself as he puts on a dirty, wrinkled pair of slacks.
Panel 2: He continues on humming to himself as he puts on a dirty, wrinkled shirt.
Panel 3: As he walks down the hallway, his internal sound track is interrupted by Elly telling him to look at his clothes.
Panel 4: She points out that everything he's wearing is dirty and wrinkled.
Panel 5: Since he's something of a slob, he says that it looks okay to him so he's going out; Elly says no to that because he looks like he's wearing something that the dog slept on.
Panel 6: She then tells the back of his head that she wants him to start caring about his appearance.
Panel 7: He slouches down the hallway with an angered look on his face as she tells him to put something else on.
Panel 8: He tells Farley, who's sleeping on the pile of laundry he just tossed on the floor like an idiot, to move.
Summary: Today's notes will probably confirm something; that something is that Elly doesn't actually want to do endless loads of clothes but has no choice because her children have no idea how to put them away properly. That's because a future strip has her at wit's end because Mike is still too God-damned lazy to fold his clothes and too damned selfish to care that he actually is adding to his mother's burdens.
