In today's single-panel wonder, we remind ourselves that Lynn really has no clue how small children think; she also seems to be setting up all the jokes wherein a baffled Lizzie channels Amelia Bedelia.

(Strip Number 4203, Original Publication Date, 3 August 1982)

Panel 1: Today's strip finds the Pattersons in the dining car; as they're surrounded by mutants, Lizzie says that she didn't put her sausage in the milk, it felled there by itself.

Summary: That's because someone forgot to cut the thing into bite-sized chunks for her; said someone also doesn't remember that small children shouldn't actually have foods that have an unhappy tendency to become something I like to call a trachea plug.
