(Strip Number 287, Original Publication Date, 19 July 1982)
Panel 1: We begin the week with Mike watching Phil as he plays a song on his trumpet; since Lynn doesn't like music she can't sing along to, we get a bunch of sound effects instead of the musical notes Lynn can't draw.
Panel 2: Mike asks Phil what he's playing; as he sits there with a beer in one hand, his trumpet in the other and a cigarette perched on his lip, Phil tells him the blues; the complete down-and-outs, to be specific.
Panel 3: He then explains why; it seems that he'd let a woman mess up his head. Mike asks "Really?"
Panel 4: He then asks if he messed the rest up himself.
Summary: The question which faces us is what the Hell is wrong with this man? So Connie was simply using him to make her real love interest a bit jealous; he's a big boy and should have picked up on that. Only thing is he didn't; tomorrow's strip proves that Mike gets thinking that the Sun shines out of his ass from his mother's side of the family. Being as dumb as a rock, of course, comes from his father's.
