(Strip Number 279, Original Publication Date, 2 July 1982)
Panel 1: As Farley chews a dog biscuit, Mike tells Lawrence that his dog ran away and that Phil found him by the city dump.
Panel 2: As a result, he has to be tied up in the yard; judging from the expression on his face, he doesn't like it too much. He also doesn't much like being yelled at for something he can't understand.
Panel 3: Any chance of Elly having learned crap-all from this is blown clear out of the water because Mike tells Lawrence that Mom said that he had the time of his life and now, he's gotta pay for it.
Panel 4: He then reports something John whispered under his breath: "Boy, I know how HE feels."
Summary: The lesson Elly carried away from this is not that she had to be more careful but that Farley got away with something and has to be tied up until his sentence is over. In other words, stoooooooooooooopid and useless Flapandhonk didn't learn a God-damned thing; neither did Johnny "Marriage-is-a-trap" Train-Boy.
ETA: Steph uses a seasonally-themed banner to remind Lynn's fans that it's once again the month of July.
