(Strip Number 4191, Original Publication Date, 26 June 1982)
Panel 1: Having learned that Farley has absented himself, Phil tells Elly and John not to worry; lost dogs are his specialty.
Panel 2: Before he can tell them that he dated a bitch once, Elly cuts Phil off in mid-profanity by yelling his name.
Panel 3: He apologizes because he knows that there are children listening and tells her that he'll go out and see if he can find him; Elly asks him how he can do that given that it's dark out.
Panel 4: As he grabs a box of dog biscuits out of the cupboard, he tells her that he's going to douse himself in Eau du Milkbone.
Summary: He's also going to use a wider search radius and go places where he knows that stray dogs end up; that's one of the things the original story and the book have in common. Another thing that they have in common is that Phil ends up needing to clean his car's upholstery afterwards.
