We begin the week with Elly acting like a typical human being taking an exam; since Lynn is not really of this Earth, this common-place event will be regarded as a baffling marvel.

(Strip Number 266, Original Publication Date, 31 May 1982)

Panel 1: We start the week watching Elly taking her finals; she thought-bubbles "Finished! I've completely finished this exam; I don't have to look at it again."

Panel 2: She smiles to herself as she thought-bubbles that she must have written two million words but is now done, done, done.

Panel 3: The prof sets up the punchline by asking if anyone needs more time; given that Elly's goofy grin has turned into a deer-in-the-headlights glare, there's only one sentiment that can be expressed.

Panel 4: Since most people second-guess themselves at a time like this, Elly's desperately yelling that she does is no great surprise.

Summary: Another not-at-all surprising thing is that Lynn's notes will be all about how strange it is that she always felt as if she needed more time at exam time. That's because she never quite figured out how people behave. The really baffling thing is that we have to wait until Saturday to find out what happened; this is so she can present RodJohn as being an ogre who wants to control her movements when it looks more as if he's simply concerned for his lush of a wife's well-being.
