(Strip Number 259, Original Publication Date, 11 May 1982)
Panel 1: We find ourselves watching John watching Elly bathe Lizzie before bedtime; as he does so, he reminds us that Phil will be teaching trumpet on campus and doing the odd 'gig' playing bees, bops and the occasional blue at night.
Panel 2: As Elly towels Lizzie off, she confirms this and says that Phil is apartment hunting as we speak.
Panel 3: As she dresses Lizzie for bed, she foreshadows the Housening by telling John that Phil wants something large, cheap and within walking distance of the university.
Panel 4: Since John is the only person in the strip to ever have a head for real estate, he walks off gobsmacked as he reminds us that Phil will be there for months.
Summary: What bothers me is not that John is right but that I remember what is to come; he's willing to endure any amount of horror when he's trying to please his family back in Manitoba or when it comes to reminding his princess of a daughter of how entitled she is but when he's inconvenienced, it's just not fair.
ETA: Now that Mother's Day has come and gone, here's some animal abuse to entertain you.
