Panel 1: Mike smiles as he tells Lizzie the Easter Bunny is coming soon; she sets up the conflict by asking "Why?"
Panel 2: Since he's being raised to think that asking questions is wrong, Mike gets mildly pissed and says "Just because, that's why?"; since Lizzie isn't yet at the phase where the curiosity has been screamed out of her, she asks "Why because?"
Panel 3: Mike tells her that that's a dumb question and she asks why yet again.
Panel 4: He outs himself as a Foob by saying that it's because he doesn't know the answer.
Summary: This, you see, is why Lynn never did well in school; simply put, she hates to confront being ignorant and having to suffer the humiliation of admitting that she needs to learn things. She hates that almost as much as she does having to talk about things that make her uncomfortable....as Elly's chickening out on what to tell Mike is about to show us.
