(Strip Number 7114, Original Publication Date, 25 April 1982)
Panel 1: We start things off with John telling Mike, who's in his pj's and reading a story book, that it's bedtime.
Panel 2: Since Mike seems to be mildly hard of hearing, he says "Huh?" in an effort to get John to repeat what he said.
Panel 3: John says that he said it was bedtime; Mike whines about how unfair that is.
Panel 4: Since Lawrence gets to stay up a bit later than he does, Mike tells John that every single kid in Milboring gets to stay up later than he does.
Panel 5: John, who's got a pseudo-concerned look on his face, says "Really? Well, I don't want to be unreasonable."
Panel 6: He then tells Mike to take a survey of every child his age and they'll base his bedtime on their average.
Panel 7: Mike's response to this is to be totally confused by the non-existent words 'survey' and 'average' and the concept of talking to every child in town.
Panel 8: He then says that he'll, uh, go to bed now.
Panel 9: We finish off with him telling Super Teddy that he's in trouble because his parents are getting smarter.
Summary: Actually, they're not; John's simply become a mildly more enlightened manipulative bastard. He's also set things up so that Coffee Talk will be a playground for jerks who dig how he confused the shit out of his son.
