In today's strip, we get a reminder that Lynn thinks that her children should not be afforded the same consideration she was meant to have as a child when it comes to watching television.

(Strip Number 245, Original Publication Date, 14 April 1982)

Panel 1: We find ourselves watching Elly trying to cheer an unhappy Mike up by telling him that everyone gets sick sometimes.

Panel 2: He agrees and then asks her why he had to get sick THIS particular week.

Panel 3: She asks what's different about the week that makes being sick so much worse.

Panel 4: She's baffled by his exclaiming that there's nothing on TV.

Summary: The Lynnsight will probably be something like this: "Oh, those baffling little strangers that insist on occupying our houses for all those years! Why do they do the things they do or care about the baffling things they care about?" Lynn has no idea and no inclination to find out; all she cares about is how their actions make her look. If that means hectoring them about sitting on their asses watching the box merely because she wants to watch her stories, whatever; it's not like anything that happens to them matters. If that means that they have to stare at a blank wall and go stir-crazy on top of being sick and frightened, well, she said she was sorry.
