(Strip Number 244, Original Publication Date, 12 April 1982)
Panel 1: We find ourselves in the Pattersons' living room; Mike tells Elly that his head aches and his tummy feels awful.
Panel 2: She tells him that if that's the case, he should go straight to bed.
Panel 3: He meekly says okay and heads to his room.
Panel 4: As she tucks him in, she thought-bubbles that he must be sick.
Summary: Elly's default belief that her children tend to fake sickness in order to guilt her into staying home or to avoid school is almost as annoying as her belief that when they are sick, it's to punish her for wanting to have her own opinion.
