We begin Spring Break with Elly howling about how everyone expects her to do all the housework; she'd be a lot more sympathetic if she didn't start in growling about how they all do it wrong.

(Strip Number 4148, Original Publication Date, 14 March 1982)

Panel 1: We start things off with a typical scene at the Patterson house: Elly freaking out because the place is untidy. As Farley watches in confusion, Elly looks at a pile of debris and says "Mud and mess and toys and clothes again!!"

Panel 2: She then yells "Why, why, why does everyone expect ME to clean up after them?!?!"

Panel 3: She finishes her latest rant by asking Farley why she's asking him.

Summary: The theme "No one is ever grateful for what Elly does" would be a lot easier to bear if it weren't accompanied by so many strips that prove that she'd feel compelled to react to her family's attempts to help her by passive-aggressive commentary about how they're doing it wrong.
