Panel 1: We start things off with Elly warning John that she's fumigating the fridge; that's not a Canadianism or even an old-fashioned regionalism being passed off as one. What it is is Elly engaged in hyperbole.
Panel 2: He looks inside a Grubberware™ container and asks her what's in it; she has no idea.
Panel 3: Since it's been in the fridge for months and probably isn't safe to eat, he asks her why she hasn't thrown it out yet.
Panel 4: She tells him that it's because it's not moldy yet.
Summary: We're doubtless in for a Lynnsight about how it's a good thing that she saves old leftovers for a rainy day; it'll be as palatable as the casseroles Elly serves her family night after endless night.
