(Strip Number 4130, Original Publication Date, 20 February 1982)
Panel 1: We pick things up from yesterday as Elly, who's sitting on the couch, confesses that the carving she got flattered into buying is unusual.
Panel 2: She then asks John what she should do with it since he doesn't think she should hang it up.
Panel 3: His solution is to keep it and then give it away as a gift.
Panel 4: Perhaps, he says, someone they hate will get married; the concept that her beloved carving is only suitable to regifted to someone she dislikes alarms Elly.
Summary: That's because she's not that bright; just as she expects her children to act like adults and Farley to act like a man in a dog suit, she wastes her life expecting John to magically agree with every idea she has. When he insists on having his own point of view, he gets stuff thrown at him.
