In today's strip, Elly draws the wrong damned conclusion after watching the results of Carrie's being a domineering jerk.

Panel 1: We start things off at the dinner table today; as Mike starts to Pattersnarf and as Elly looks on, Carrie admonishes him to eat properly because he knows how to use a knife now.
Panel 2: We next see Elly getting the dishes started while Carrie tells Lizzie that it's bath time and then bed.
Panel 3: We follow that with Carrie gushing about how she's reorganized the kitchen and put up new drapes.
Panel 4: We then end up watching John ask a worried Elly what's wrong; she tells him that she can be replaced.
Summary: Remember back when we were talking about how big a jerk Carrie would have to be to basically storm in and try to usurp Elly? Well, here we are watching her being a domineering old biddy who's saying that Elly is inadequate as a parent; granted, she's right and we're looking at Lynn's real life but basic decorum insists that Carrie/Ruth not be as disrespectful as she is here.
