In today's strip, we get to see the first part of the return to the Frozen North. Given that I myself am dealing with a windchill warning, I can relate to wanting to stay South.

(Strip Number 4123, Original Publication Date, 26 January 1982)

Panel 1: We find ourselves on the plane taking John and Elly home; the captain's voice over the PA tells them that they'll be landing at Pearson in fifteen minutes so should secure their seatbelts.

Panel 2: John asks Elly if she sees anything yet; all she sees is fog.

Panel 3: He then asks if she can't see anything, why she's staring out the window.

Panel 4: She tells him that she's helping them land.

Summary: What a very strange thing to say; ah, well. Fear of flying can take some strange forms. If thinking that she's helping to land the plane keeps her from freaking out, well, there are stranger coping mechanisms.
