(Strip Number 4119, Original Publication Date, 15 January 1982)
Panel 1: We fast-forward to a couple of days after Elly turned into a crispy critter to find her and John at a restaurant table; as she drinks her mixed drink and smiles at him, John says "Here we are again. Dinner alone....just the two of us."
Panel 2: He then points out that it's been the first chance the two of them have had to really talk to each other.
Panel 3: We next have the sort of awkward pause Ces Marciuliano would later perfect....
Panel 4: ...before John asks her if she's heard any good jokes lately.
Summary: Since the only thing these two have in common is that they regard the children they left behind as their mortal enemies, I really don't think that any sort of romantic getaway is going to be a success; we can thus call this another nice vacation and let Elly loose at the souvenir stands.
