(Strip Number 4107, Original Publication Date, 16 December 1981)
Panel 1: As Elly drives herself, her in-laws and her children home, Mike is in the middle of telling Will all about his life; he got skates an'he's in grade two and he's in the Christmas play. He would have gone on but Lizzie tells Gamma to look!
Panel 2: He cuts off her saying that she singing by sniping sing later and going back to telling them that he got this neat robot and him an'Lawrence were doing something or other. Nizzie says that she wants to do something when Mike points out that they're home.
Panel 3: As the adult's silhouettes get out of the car, a delighted Mike yells "Daddy! They're HERE!!"
Panel 4: Now that she can get a word in edgewise, Elly asks Will and Carrie how they've been.
Summary: While it's not really all that nice of Mike to try to keep Lizzie from talking, we have to ask ourselves when he gets a chance to boast about himself to adults. Usually, the conversation is all about how cute and special Lizzie is and how big a pain he is. Elly and John, of course, don't ever see why it is that their children are such bitter rivals; then again, being stupid means never having to say you're sorry.
