Lynn's idea of the best thing to show Americans recovering from Thanksgiving is Annie dissing her husband while he's in earshot. Charming woman, isn't she?

(Strip Number 201, Original Publication Date, 27 November 1981)

Panel 1: Elly smiles slyly and says that Annie doesn't resent Steve's watching the game as much as she says she does.

Panel 2: Annie is willing to concede Elly's point.

Panel 3: We switch to watching Steve watching the game while his wife and that shouting lunatic the dentist married talk about him as if he's not even there; what Annie is saying that there's only one good thing about sports on television.

Panel 4: She gushes that he's home.

Summary: The problem I have with this is that, well, we don't actually have anyone adult to empathize with when their marriage hits the skids. Steve's an idiot who can't keep it in his pants and Annie's a dolt who thinks that every little thing that goes wrong in her life is the result of a plot to keep her from living an unrealistic Disney fantasy. Their children ended up caught in the crossfire.
