ETA: The one in the newspapers is Strip Number 6076 from 18 October 1981: the "Am I too big to hug?" strip.
Panel 1: We start things with Elly peering over the door at Lizzie, who's on the chesterfield playing with a doll.
Panel 2: She smiles and asks "Where's Elizabeth?"
Panel 3: Her smiling and saying "BOO! I've found you!" remind us that she's in a rare good mood.
Panel 4: As a smiling Mike looks on, Elly says "Gonna getcha! Gonna give her a great big kissy!"
Panel 5: Her "Gonna give my Lizzie a cuddle!" reminds us that she is capable of actually parenting if she would put in the effort.
Panel 6: Lizzie wriggles loose with a happy shriek and a giggle.
Panel 7: Elly's smiling when she says "Here you!" again reminds us that if she tried, she could actually parent.
Panel 8: Mike unintentionally puts Elly's resolve to the test by asking "Mom..."
Panel 9: "....am I too big to hug?"; Elly's smile is erased and replaced by a deer-in-the-headlights stare.
Summary: As I said the last time I summarized this:
Lynn's notes start by trying to absolve herself of an accusation of not caring by invoking how heavy Aaron was; she 'somehow' had a reminder that even though he seemed to not want affection, he actually yearned for it. In short, the answer to Mike's question is "No", no matter how much Elly's back would hurt.
As for what we can expect from now on, I should think that the Holiday strips will be more or less run close to their right place in time while ordinary Sunday strips will be reshuffled to compensate for Lynn's inability to understand what aprilp_katje was talking about last Monday.
