(Strip Number 4091, Original Publication Date, 7 November 1981)
Panel 1: As he closes up shop for the night, John tells Jean "Good night" and she wishes him much the same.
Panel 2: She then reminds him to buy some milk, pick up the dry cleaning, gas up the cap and to drive carefully because he looks tired.
Panel 3: She then tells him that she works for Elly on the side.
Summary: Jean is thus a stand-in for the one of Rod's employees that Lynn had developed a bond of sorts with and who could be trusted to not only serve as a message service but to take her side in an argument. That, or this is a coded message to Rod's staff that they're supposed to cater to Lynn's whims.
