We switch gears today by demonstrating that Elly has no real idea how to put groceries away properly. I should think that her notes on the strip will tell us that she was kept too busy to shelve them the way she wanted to.

(Strip Number 176, Original Publication Date, 25 September 1981)

Panel 1: We start off with Elly FUMBLING and REACHING around in a cupboard as she thought-bubbles "Groceries, Groceries; let's see....I need sugar, baking soda....."

Panel 2: Before she can complete her mental list, an alarming RRRRUMMMBLLLING noise comes from the cupboard......

Panel 3: ....as its contents CRASH!!!! all over the floor.

Panel 4: As she looks down at the smashed bottles of baking supplies, she thought-bubbles "mustard, oregano......"

Summary: Granted, I've occasionally had a can I didn't put away properly fall onto the counter but this sort of slapdash arrangement is beyond the pale; Lynn definitely didn't have a camera in my house growing up because my mother was more organized than Elly.
