Elly's nagging Mike about not using his school supplies now leads into a reminder that Lynn thinks that children are horrible, destructive and messy avatars of chaos, ruin and evil.

(Strip Number 4051, Original Publication Date, 20 August 1981)

Panel 1: We start things off with Mike about to use his school supplies before he's really supposed to because Elly didn't have the brains to put them away until Labor Day like regular people. Since she's a pious fraud as well as a blithering idiot, she closes her eyes and turns up her nose when she tells him not to use the supplies because they're for school.

Panel 2: We also see her tell him not to put on the new clothes he's just changed into because they too are for school.

Panel 3: Instead of asking the question a normal mortal who has the sense God gave a flea would ask (i.e. "Why haven't you put them in the attic or in your closet or something?"], Mike reminds us that his creator thinks that children were put on this earth to bedevil their parents and spread noise, chaos and filth by whining "Howcome I can't use my school stuff now?" (Note: the colorized version has it as 'how come'.)

Panel 4: He finishes off by saying "It's only going to stay nice for one day anyway."

Summary: We go through strips like this every year from now on, folks; always and again, we have Lynn hammering away on the same tired old theme of children being willfully destructive because they hate their parents and order becuase as children, they're evil and filled with spite and malice.
