(Strip Number 159, Original Publication Date, 1 August 1981)
Panel 1: As the Pattersons unpack, Ted asks "So you liked my little wilderness hideaway?"
Panel 2: Since Ted's real place is similar to that vacation cottage they went to in North Bay so they could discuss retirement and remind the Martian that she's not good enough to take anywhere nice, he asks if they used the fireplace, sun porch or sauna.
Panel 3: They stare at one another in confusion for about an awkward second or so.
Panel 4: Elly breaks the silence by yelling "YOU IDIOT!! WE WERE AT THE WRONG CABIN!!!"
Summary: This is interesting to me because, as we know, she thought they were at the right place too. We also know that even if she suspected otherwise, not even being told that the couch was a nesting ground for vermin made her contemplate leaving so the inevitable 'I KNEW we were at the wrong place all along' is, to say the least, bullshit. What I think is happening is that John and the kids are dealing with her extreme reluctance to own up to being a dumbass for fear that if she admit error, she won't ever again be taken seriously.
