In today's strip, John fails to notice that a creosote-laden chimney is not the homey touch he thinks it is.

(Strip Number 153. Original Publication Date, 22 July 2010)

Panel 1: We find John (who isn't wearing a lifejacket) and Mike (who is) in the canoe; as Mike tries his hand at angling, John notices a gigantic plume of smoke coming from the chimney and starts to paddle home. He explains this by saying "I guess we should go on in, Mike; it looks like your mother has supper on...."

Summary: Now that the KAN knows that they're not where they're supposed to be, strips like this will make them ask the question "Why are they still there?" The answer, of course, is that they don't know any better.
