Lynn's inability to remember how far away cottage country isn't will have another effect aside from allowing her to gripe about spoiled kids; it'll allow Kool-Aid Nation to tell yours truly to stop being mean to their idol by making her admit error. Not even the realization that John is the sort of fool who went on the backroad odyssey of boredom because he thought that taking the direct route would deprive his children of a chance to see Canada's wonders will deflect them.

(ETA: That should be changed to "Lynn's decision to make the Pattersons look like chumps by having them drive a thousand miles to Ted's cabin.")
