In today's strip, Elly's wondering why Connie is hung up on someone who probably isn't interested in her leads to her being mildly rebuked.

(Strip Number 4027, Original Publication Date. 30 June 1981)

Panel 1: We fast forward a few minutes from the punchline of yesterday's strip and find ourselves in the basement; as Elly folds her seventh load of clothes, she turns to Connie and asks "You still think about Phil a lot, don't you?"

Panel 2: Connie answers in the affirmative and goes on to say that when there's nothing new on the horizon, you hang on to what you had even if you never had it.

Panel 3: Elly breezily declares that Connie's nuts.

Panel 4: Connie shoots Elly down by reminding her that she hasn't been single for a while.

Summary: This is why it's sort of hard for single people to maintain their friendships with married friends; the Ellys of the world forget the pressures that the Connies face. It's sort of too bad that we switch gears to talking about the Month-Long Vacation In Hell tomorrow; I'd have rather had Elly own up to being an ignoramus than more John and Mike bashing.
