As the week begins, we remind ourselves that Poor Lonely, Needy, Desperate Connie is still fixated on Phil.

(Strip Number 4026, Original Publication Date, 29 June 1981)

Panel 1: We find ourselves watching Elly and Connie drinking coffee; as she puts down her cup, Connie asks Elly if she ever hears from Phil.

Panel 2: Elly says that she does; she goes on to explain that he's busy teaching now and has six students. This makes Connie smile.

Panel 3: She then wistfully says that she wishes Phil could teach her something.

Panel 4: She then makes the sort of stupid face Lynn does when she gets in front of a camera as she says that she can't play a note but she can sure pucker.

Summary: The good news is that this and tomorrow's are not a lead-in to a repeat of February's madness; the bad is that they're a lead-in to the Plot That Ate July wherein the Pattersons go to what they don't find out isn't Ted's cabin until they get home.
