Panel 1: We find ourselves in the dining room after the Pot Luck of Doom; as Elly cleans up, Ted tells John he's gotta a fine little cook there. This, as one might expect angers Elly; not only is it witlessly (albeit unintentionally) demeaning, Ted's remark touches a raw nerve.
Panel 2: As Ted opines that yessir, a man needs pampering once in a while, we get to cross off an entry on
Panel 3: Since Ted is an idiot, he doesn't pick on the look of alarm on John's face after he says that there's nothing like a woman to give him said pampering.
Panel 4: We cross off another entry as Elly thought-bubbles that she's about to give it to him.
Summary: What she gives him is a lecture about how she wasn't put on this Earth to cater to male whims; since Ted's a boob who doesn't realize that Elly confuses chivalry with slavery, he calls Elly "one of those" before wondering when it became a crime to be a gentleman.
