We set up the week's "My Dinner With A Drunken Scotsman Who Thinks He's Don Draper" story arc with Elly reluctantly accepting his unwelcome presence and warning John that they can't expect food with frills like taste or digestibility.

(Strip Number 4016, Original Publication Date, 8 June 1981)

Panel 1: As our story begins, we see Elly talking on the phone while making her awful meal; she's sort of hesitant as she says she guesses it's all right if John brings her archnemesis Ted over for dinner.

Panel 2: She responds to his question about what will be served by saying "Pot luck? I guess you could tell him it's pot luck..."

Panel 3: She qualifies that by saying "Actually, it's more like 'Eat at your own risk.'"

Summary: In case you're thinking that Ted is being singled out for special treatment because Elly hates him, you're off base; she makes everyone eat her unpalatable swill.
