(Strip Number 4010, Original Publication Date, 20 May 1981)
Panel 1: I'm not sure if this takes place the day after John tried telling Elly that she can trust him to tell her where he is or a different day; all I do know is that it's fairly early so Elly is in her housecoat when she tells John to throw out those awful checkered pants.
Panel 2: John looks down at his ugly pants and says that they're comfortable.
Panel 3: John says "Besides, it's ME who's walking around in these clothes, not you."
Panel 4: As John leaves, Elly slumps over and says "But I'm the one who gets blamed."
Summary: Elly is, of course, trying to tell John that she and the other Real Housewives of Milborough are keeping score on how well they've domesticated their husbands; since John insists on not realizing that his clothes aren't interpreted as a reflection on her, he's doomed to more confrontations like this.
