(Strip Number 4008, Original Publication Date, 18 May 1981)
Panel 1: We pick up where we left off Saturday with John in bed unable to sleep because Elly never bothered telling him where she was and when she was going to be home. As vehicles VROOOOOOOM by the house, he thought-bubbles "Truck. Car. Car. Car."
Panel 2: After what probably seemed like an eternity to him, we hear a RRUMMFF-SLAM coming from what must be the driveway; that's because he thought-bubbles "There. That's our car."
Panel 3: We next hear Elly CLICKing the lock on the front door shut and STEP-STEP-STEPping down the hall; John's reaction is to look as if he expects the guy with the melted face from the Elm Street movies instead of his wife.
Panel 4: John finally manages to close his eyes after the door CREEEEAKs open to reveal Elly.
Summary: What we have here is the calm before the storm; that's because John's attempt to ask her why she can't use a telephone like regular people will be taken as a sign that he's an ogre who wants to chain her to the kitchen.
