(Strip Number 4000, Original Publication Date, 4 May 1981)
Panel 1: Annie shows off a bookshelf loaded with parenting books and says "Help yourself, Elly; I've got every book on child raising there is."
Panel 2: Elly declines and says "Thanks, Annie....but I've always picked up advice from my mom."
Panel 3: Anne is aghast because she'd never ask her mother anything about child raising.
Panel 4: As she picks up Christopher, she declares that her mother did it all wrong.
Summary: This, of course, is meant to be Lynn's way of mocking people who think that they know so much about parenting that they're smarter than the people who raised them. When you recall to mind the whizbang (and incomplete) job Marian did raising Elly, it sort of loses its impact.
