(Strip Number 3994, Original Publication Date, 24 April 1981)
Panel 1: As Elly tries to feed Lizzie her supper, Lizzie makes some sort of warding gesture to keep the icky-tasting food away; Elly's pleasing "No supper, Lizzie? Supper GOOOOOOOD!" does little to convince.
Panel 2: Neither does saying "Come on, just eat a bit....a little bit for Mommy." I really don't think that she likes the taste of it if the alarming and confusing thing she's doing with her hands is anything to go by. Seriously, what the Hell is Lizzie doing with her hands and why is her face like that? It's creeping me out, man!
Panel 3: In any event, Elly takes Lizzie out of her highchair and SIGHs in despair.
Panel 4: It's a good thing that she isn't watching Lizzie eat Farley's food; instead of being gobsmacked like her dog, her face would be frozen in the Triangle of Horror™.
Summary: The point of this is supposed to be that children will not eat for Mommy because they want to make Mommy's life harder. The problem is that, well, it can also be taken to mean that Elly's cooking is so awful or that she's so married to buying the cheapest, ickiest tasting baby food she can get, her kids prefer kibble to her cooking.
