And I'm right. Crap.
Panel 1: Mike sits there with his head in hands complaining that everybody hangs around Lawrence just because he broke his leg; Elly, who's sitting next to him, is wondering if he wishes he too had a broken leg.
Panel 2: If so, she can reassure herself that her son doesn't want to hobble around on crutches; what he wants to do is tell her that Lawrence thinks that these people are his friends but that he's REALLY his friend.
Panel 3: Elly tells him "Sure. Your friendship goes deeper than that; you like him for much, much more."
Panel 4: His admission that he likes him for his toys leaves her gobsmacked.
Summary: It leaves me nauseated; this attempt to hybridize 'Peanuts' and 'Dennis the Menace' is as realistic as a car commercial and about as entertaining. About the only enjoyment I can derive is from remembering the Settlepocalypse and its moral: "Life is about who can give you the most stuff."
