I hate not having a new-ruin to explain things.
Panel 1: Connie looks in the bedroom mirror and thought-bubbles "Well, I figured something out this week."
Panel 2: She says "I'm too insecure; I don't need a man, I need self-confidence. I need to be happy with me."
Panel 3: She declares that she's going home as a totally new person and there's only one way to do it....
Panel 4: That way is, of course, to have her hair dyed.
Summary: This answers the question she posed yesterday quite nicely; the reason she doesn't learn from her mistakes is that she draws the wrong conclusion from them and insists on her misconceptions.
