Panel 1: As Elly dials the phone to call Connie, Lawrence hobbles over on his crutches and asks "Hey! You callin' my Mom? Does she know about my neat cast?"
Panel 2: He motions to Elly to hand over the phone and says "No! I wanna tell her! Me! ME!"
Panel 3: Elly smiles as he says "Hi, Mom?"
Panel 4: I doubt she's smiling now, though; that's because Lawrence cries as he says "I broke my LEG!!"
Summary: When you remember the crap he's been through since he broke his leg, I'm surprised he lasted THIS long without tearing up. The real problem, though, is the premise that Lynn seems to have underlying this mess; her hip, cool Gospel of Fail seems to state that children only cry when they want to make adults feel guilty.
ETA: Today's banner reminds us that it'll be Valentine's day soon. I wonder if Lynn realizes that now that anyone can see her catalog at will, they'll be able to find the strip this was taken from and notice how cute it isn't.
