I wish; we're reminded that Mike is sort of literal-minded, Elly gets spooked easily and that she's always doing laundry.
Panel 1: We start things off with Elly doing the daily laundry; things seem to be going well because both she and her dryer are humming softly.
Panel 2: She removes a load of clothes from the dryer.
Panel 3: As she starts to fold Mike's jeans, she notices something she doesn't like.
Panel 4: She yells "Michael!!" and Mike yells back "Yeah?!"
Panel 5: She asks him how many times she's told him not to leave gum in his pockets. Since he suffers from the same memory problem she does, he mutters "Ummm" in confusion.
Panel 6: Instead of asking him if he knows what garbage cans are and why they should be used to store refuse, she tells him to look at the results of his negligence and asks him how she's supposed to get that out.
Panel 7: She makes the Squished-Up Face of Rage as he walks off with the jeans.
Panel 8: A few minutes later, he tells Elly, who's holding a laundry basket to remind us that she's a SAHM, that he's fixed the pants and the gum is gone.
Panel 9: We see her make the Triangle of Horror complete with Teeth of Evil as she sees how he did it: he cut a hole in the pocket to remove the gum.
Summary: Boy, I sure am glad that Lynn is expanding our knowledge of the Pattersons with strips like this. We really needed to be reminded that Elly is a touchy blowhard and Mike is a destructive numbskull.
