Panel 1: Annie tells Elly that being a homemaker has never been more in style.
Panel 2: Her silhouette tells Elly, who's reading a book called Wok's cooking, "Look at all the kitchen aids, the gourmet foods, the books about parenting!"
Panel 3: As she sits down, she reminds Elly that no woman should ever feel inadequate because she works out of the home. (She might, however feel inadequate because her fingers are ten inches long.)
Panel 4: She gets all glum as she says "Taken for granted, maybe, but never inadequate."
Summary: Anne doesn't realize it but she's just reminded us of what's really bugging Elly about housework: her fear that nobody actually appreciates what she does for them.
